First of all, try making your house more earthquake proof. For example, you can try bracing the furniture that is more likely to fall and damage somebody in the event of an earthquake. So, brace the things like bookshelves, televisions and other furniture items that can fall on somebody. Additionally, you can label certain shut off places to help your family shut off the things like gas connection and electricity to stay safe even if the wires and pipes break down.

Teach Your Family

You can teach the urban survival skills by yourself first and then you can teach your family as well. Teach them on what they can do during and after an earthquake. Additionally, identify the weak areas in your home and notify your family members to stay away from them in the case of an earthquake.
